Jenna Shields

Jenna Shields is a seasoned communications and marketing professional with more than 15 years of experience. She understands the media, has deep relationships and knows how to sell stories.

She has worked at leading agencies and at top corporations, on both the consumer and business-to-business side, and develops and implements communications and marketing programs that generate measurable publicity and client interest.

Jenna has worked with global healthcare companies, including Boehringer Ingelheim and Genentech. She also has performed media relations for a Chicago-area plastic and cosmetic surgeon as well as a podiatric surgeon. She currently works with Celsis, a leading life science product and laboratory services biotech company with a focus on the cosmetic and beauty industry. In addition to her healthcare experience, Jenna also has developed and conducted programs for consumer education companies, including SCORE! Learning Centers and NEC Education.

Jenna began her career as a broadcast journalist at an NBC affiliate in the Chicagoland area and earned her “media chops” in management at the leading global PR agencies: Edelman Worldwide and Weber Shandwick in the healthcare, professional services and technology practices.

Her areas of expertise include media relations, social networking, writing and editing, research, internal communications, crisis management, marketing project management, website development, collateral development, book promotion and speaker placements.

Jenna earned her bachelor of psychology degree with honors from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

She is an active member of the Business Marketing Association, the Social Media Club of Chicago and the Executives Club of Chicago. In addition, Jenna is the former head of publicity and marketing for the Junior League of Chicago and has spearheaded PR campaigns for the Leukemia Foundation and PAWS (Progressive Animal Welfare Society).
